Drumming as Spiritual Practice
A Faith Connections program led by Marianne Bernadino
Sunday April 23 at 10:45am
No RSVP needed.
Join us for an intergenerational drumming circle gathering. Marianne will be giving basic instruction on drumming techniques (which means you don’t have to be an experienced drummer to participate!), talking about how she incorporates drumming in her own life, and thinking with us about how drumming might be used as a spiritual practice. If you have a drum you are welcome to bring it.
“For me, drumming is a deeply spiritual experience. When I drum, I feel deeply connected with a sense of inner harmony, as well as more connected to the natural elements around me. When I drum with others, I feel connected to the drummers in the circle, and that connection extends outward to people who aren’t present in the circle. I suspect that drumming is a medium by which we have access to the divine within us and can more fully appreciate the divine in others.” (Marianne Bernadino)
