A Note from David J. Wood
It is a stunningly beautiful day here on the Mid-Coast! I trust you have been able to luxuriate in the outdoors today. This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday—one of the four great festivals of the Church (the other three: Christmas, Easter, and Ascension). The focus on this day is always on the gift of the Holy Spirit.
One of the things you will notice when you enter the sanctuary this Sunday will be yet one more new liturgical panel from Kathryn Oliver in the Chancel. As well, you will see an additional two panels to carry through the season of Pentecost (which runs for the next six months). If you access the bulletin for this Sunday (see below), you will get a preview of the panel in the chancel as well as Kathryn’s commentary on the imagery it contains. The sanctuary is surrounded by color and beautiful images to ignite our imaginations about the Gospel story that carries us through the year…and our lives!
